"The Magic Lollipop"
One bright summer’s day, I went to buy some sweets at the shop. I saw a box saying ‘magic pops’. Suddenly I got a feeling that I should buy one and I did. Whenever I ate it another lollipop appeared. Suddenly I got afraid of it and I went to bed. I woke up and went out to play. But suddenly I spotted a row of lollies just where I had dropped my lolly. Suddenly the world started to move and all of my lollies flew up to the sun. All the lollies got stuck to a magnetic force in space. Suddenly there was storm and it destroyed houses, pubs, shops and more. Suddenly all my lollipops came back down to me. Immediately the lake rose up and fell down again and guess what was up on it? There was an alien in the water. He kept saying: "Lollllllllllllies, lolllllllllllllies!". The magnetic force in space was controlling the alien. My only hope was to go to space myself. I went into space and I destroyed the magnetic force. The alien fell down because he was dead. I was never short of lollies again!

"My Summer Adventure."
I was so excited that I could not sleep. When I got out of bed I got dressed and I ate my breakfast. Afterwards I went to Leisureland in Galway. I went on the bumper cars. Daddy and Mammy and I went on this space ship with racing cars going around bends. I went into this Chinese maze with mirrors all around you. Susan and I went on cars. It was the best day of my life!

"Gold Mine."
As I cycled along the edge of Gold Mine Ravine I saw a cave behind a gnarled old tree. I walked over to it and from the entrance I saw a thousand stalagmites and stalactites. Intrigued I went into the cave hid my bike and unstrapped the bicycle lamp and ventured into the dark yawning mouth of the cave. Once inside I turned on the lamp and I gasped at the vastness of the caves. I walked over to the far wall and saw a picture of some bovine and equine being hunted by some canines and men with flint spears and axes and a picture of a village with some huts, women and children. Some children were playing with felines. I turned around and saw a huge amount of boxes and I went to investigate it. They turned out to be huge crates of T.N.T. Above them a sign said ‘NO SMOKING’ in case the dynamite will IGNITE and EXPLODE. I went down a passage and saw a sign that had fallen on the ground. It said ‘Numbers go on for infinite.’
I knew straight away it was such bad English that it would have made my teacher faint. I went down the passage and out of the corner of my eye I saw a flash of gold. I bent down and picked it up. It was definitely real gold there was more of it on the ground. I filled my pockets with it and ran out of the caves a hundred thousand euro richer!

"My Summer Adventure."
It was a lovely sunny day and my family and I were at Shannon Airport ready for the plane to take off. We were going to Scotland for a week. We finally got there and we went to the hotel. The next day we went straight to Edinburgh to see Edinburgh Castle. When we went inside the castle we saw historical statues and other things. I ran on ahead to the top floor and I could see for miles.
Suddenly I heard a clatter from one of the rooms. I ran into the room. I looked around but I saw nothing and I thought to myself, “Could it be a ghost? ”. Then my family came up to me and I said that I was just going down. They went ahead while I checked the room and there I saw a ghost. We became friends and I told her I would come again the next day. The next day I went to the castle and the ghost wasn’t there. I let out a sigh of disappointment but I went back to the hotel because we were going to Inverness.
Next day we went to Ben Nevis to see the beautiful scenery and the rest of the mountains and then we travelled to the hotel. That evening we went to the beach to watch the sunset.
The next day we went to Loch Lomond and admired the scenery. We thought that we might see the Loch Ness Monster but we didn’t.
The next morning I decided to get up earlier than everyone else to go to the lake. I decided to go for a little swim. I swam for a while and when I was at the shore, I heard a splash. When I turned around who was there but a monster. I guessed it was the Loch Ness monster.
I grabbed my camera and took a picture and when the flash clicked he got really angry. He made for me but I dived under water and swam around the other side of him. He saw me and I had to take drastic measures so I got my camera and started clicking the flash, but it didn’t work.
Suddenly my ghost friend appeared and the Loch Ness monster was rigid with fear. He jumped back into the water and when I went to see if he was gone. Thankfully there was nothing in sight. I thanked my ghost friend and went back to the hotel. When I got back there my brother asked me where I had been. I replied, “ Just for a swim”. I wasn’t going to tell him about the ghost and the Loch Ness monster and when I got my photos developed no pictures came out but I knew that it wasn’t a dream.
It was reality!

"A Day at the Circus."
One day while I was on holiday in Kerry I went to a circus.
Suddenly, out of nowhere the ringmaster was in the centre of his ring talking to the audience. Suddenly the lights went off and who came out only the hilarious clown, the trapeze artist, the juggling jugglers and the tightrope walker. When I looked over I was thrilled that I met an old friend, Tara Naughton and her little sister. I was very surprised because two other good old friends, Shauna Dolan and Emma Rosbothom were there too. We were discussing how I missed them and how they missed me as I had changed schools. I told them that I might be going to Gina Griffin's birthday. Then we stopped talking about that and watched the hilarious circus. We were saying how funny it was. Then we just stopped talking because we went there to watch a funny circus with hilarious clowns. When the lights went out again the trapeze artist came out. Underneath him was a rope and under the rope were dangerous animals such as the lion, tiger, chimpanzee and much more ferocious wild animals. Tara, Shauna, Emma and I were shocked how she could learn to walk on a tightrope so carefully. Next to come out were the clowns, they were telling jokes. My favourite joke was:
"What do you get if you cross a snowman and a vampire?"
"Frostbite!".
Everyone went red on the face with laughter.
They thought it was so funny - you'd think they would explode!
I also thought it was hilariously funny.
The circus was exceedingly good!

"Fantasy Triumph for Drim National School."
It was a great evening at the “Seven a Side” Drim V Derrybrien soccer match at Ballyminter. The weather was quite nice but rain clouds were on their way. As the whistle blew, Shane for Drim passed the ball to Donna but was then tackled unsuccessfully by Mark for Derrybrien. Then Eamon for Drim passed to Maeve who kicked it into the goals. A huge roar came from the crowd. The score was Drim 1, Derrybrien 0. Bill for Derrybrien kicked the ball out of the goals right across the pitch to Steven for Derrybrien. Now Derrybrien had possession of the ball and a chance to make the score even. However they were stopped by Drim’s spectacular defence. Then Bryan for Drim got the ball and raced down the pitch but he was kicked in the shins by Sean for Derrybrien. Bryan was rolling around the pitch in agony when the man with the First Aid kit came and put a cold pack of ice on his leg to stop the swelling. Drim got a free but Bryan had to go off the pitch because of his injury so they had to send on a substitute. There were no goals and incidents for the rest of the first half. Then the referee blew the whistle. It was half time. In the second half Derrybrien scored a goal so now the score was even. It was a tough match. Eamon kicked the ball out of the goals and it landed in the middle of the pitch. Frank for Derrybrien got the ball and brought it towards their opponents’ goals. He was tackled by Ronan so Derrybrien’s Frank passed it over to Michael who took a shot for a goal. However the goalie, Eamon kicked the ball out and Shane got possession of the ball. Just five seconds before the final whistle blew, Shane scored! There was a huge roar from the crowd!
Drim had won! The score was 2-1.
